Four Areas that Jedi Should Work On

by: Jedi Kidohdin

*Daily Meditation or self contemplation: This means being in touch with your inner self and the inner Force at least for some time daily.

*Developing Physical Fitness: This means doing exercises for at least 30 minutes - 3 times a week to improve or maintain your cardio-vascular fitness. This area also includes over-all wellness, nutrition, flexibility, etc.

*Developing Psychic Skills: This means working to develop your Psychic Intuition, ESP, Telepathy, and other Jedi psychic skills. We should be doing this at least once a week.

*Developing Self Defense or Martial Arts Skills: This means practice, practice, practice. Get the rust off of your old martial arts skills if you have them. Learn new self defense skills if you have never done it before. We should be doing this at least once a week.

Four Areas to Work On by Jedi Seven

1. Love and Light over Fear and Darkness - always.
So often we make decisions out of fear. 'I'm afraid that person will think I'm stupid if I speak up." Don't make decisions out of fear - which isn't the same thing as discarding wisdom, there is a time of course to very wisely stay quiet and wisely duck out of situations. But being afraid to care about someone because it might not work out, or fear of taking karate because you weight in at 300 pounds - those are real fears but they need confronted and conquered.

2. Self Discipline
Make the most of the time you have.
On my lunch hour I always try to run/walk/jog three miles for instance which is good since I work at a desk. But the time you have will stretch farther if you start planning it strategically and thinking - what good can I do this week - or tomorrow - or right now? It could be read a book to a kid, or help someone with a chore, or learn guitar etc. With my friend we each set a task for one another each week. They are often funny or fun and it's neat how we interpret them. It's good to find out from one another what we can work on, and it's a way we can connect.

3. Communication
It is the basis of all relationships even the one we have with ourselves. If we put ourselves down a lot - or anyone in our head or out loud it usually comes back to haunt us. Practice good communication in your head, if you get really negative figure out ways to rephrase. Watch other good communicators - make mental notes. Overcoming other people's communication flaws and your own is a tremendous advantage in life.

4. Respect
If you respect yourself, respect those around you (even at times when it is difficult) you will find life going smoother. Practice respect - and transparency. Transparency is a trendy word for diligently making wise and good decisions even when given the opportunity to be sneaky, underhanded and dishonest. This isn't exactly being a goody two shoes - but it is a part of leadership. People need to be able to trust you and your judgment.

You might ask other Jedi but those are my four. I've spent a lot of time thinking them over - I would suggest you come up with your own four possibly and then decide why they are your four. Finding answers for ourselves (even when they are wrong) are usually the best lessons learned.

Have fun in life - enjoy it and find things that make you excited. The way of the Force is not about drudgery and self discipline through giving up what we like/love etc. It is about finding the Force - the force inside ourselves, others and life will give you a joy and passion to follow and if you will follow that happiness you can't fail - it will be contagious and good will happen around you (sometimes it takes a little faith! .
