Freedom

Why did the Germans after they had a Democracy after World War I, turn it into a dictatorship? Those were my initial questions 30 years ago."
I always wondered that too. After the French Revolution where they fought so hard they turned everything over into a dictatorship and everything they had fought for was washed away. Why people fight is complicated. At the root I have always really sincerely believed that as a species biologically we go to war as a means of controlling the population and assimilating new skills and cultural beliefs. -Jedi Seven
The Lady Jedi Replied.....Why have some in the past given up freedom for dictatorships? Some seem to have chosen dictators for what they believe to be security, but as Ben Franklin said, "The man who trades freedom for security does not deserve nor will he ever receive either." I have always believed that it has something to do with national character. We, as a nation, are very young and still have very much of the pioneer character of the ancestors which founded our country.
