If I gave my neighbors a cake, carefully left it on their doorstep with a hallmark card it would end up plastered to my door or set afire below my window.

Hmm, it's a difficult diplomatic situation.

As a teen I lived in a dangerous area and the worst was my Mom's lecherous boyfriends. I had a bowie survival knife that I slept with. In my head I practiced -- don't hesitate. Stab. Period. I had my door rigged with a series of alarms and a trip line. I used to practice a form of street martial arts that involved getting hit and not flinching and being the last person standing. I usually won.

In my neighborhood if you backed down or acted weak it was inviting danger. (Yet - I never have gotten into a street fight, go figure - somehow people just left me alone. Maybe it was that crazy "I don't care if I die but I am taking you with me" attitude.)

So when they try to stare me down with a nasty look, I don't back down. I don't look away and I don't flinch. I'm ready to fight. damn it, I hate that.

You know at my age - I know better.

Anyone you might brawl with...anyone who would want to brawl, isn't worth doing anything but calling the police on. They're not worth noticing.

Now they're trying to get my stairs to fall down. Day by day they hit away at the structure hoping it collapses.

They worry we're fornicating. I'm married. I'm 35. It's 8:30pm WTF.

They start fires under my second story windows and tie up dogs there to bark at 6am. (We have our windows open here because in the summertime it's just the thing in Oregon -- so if I'm gone my whole house fills with smoke.)

They are constantly L O U D.

I love children. There is something wrong with their 2 boys. Not to be mean but for four hours today the little guy screamed his head off, "BEETLE", okay, but the second time "BEETLE" and the third time "BEETLE!!!" I never quite got that finding a beetle could entertain a person for four hours. FOUR hours of "BEETLE!!!" I went for a walk eventually.

The man of the house is very proud, HE is a volunteer fireman. A big shot. Fireman, in a rain forest. Yeah....I was a fisherman in the Nevada desert once too.

They'll stand outside and yell at us, demand quiet - it's Friday night and we're in our room and it's 9:30pm by God everyone should be asleep. They were actually worried we were 'doin something'. *sigh.

I wish I didn't have such a confrontational nature.

I wish it just didn't occur to me to be annoyed out of my skull by the harassment. I get annoyed easily I guess.

These apartments are small, but they manage to fit in four people, a dog and three cats into theirs (that I know about) and all the things that won't fit into their house have collected out doors on all four sides of the building. Everyone else moved out and they were the only people left, they thought they would run us out too.

I don't run.

I sent some video to the landlord and photographs of lease violations.

I wouldn't have complained except that the dog they were just tying up for long periods of time and it would shiver and bark and bark and bark and bark usually when I was trying to sleep. Even on the weekends.

When the dog had to leave they left too for a little bit. Ah ha - finally they're moving out. Then they came back. Then they started to try to knock down my stairs.

I thought about getting a dog and letting it bark at 9:30pm on Friday night.

Oh' the horror.

Anyway, wish I had better social skills to finally get along with them but they utterly repulse me and I kinda wish that Darwinism would do its work already. I shouldn't be that way and I'm working on recognizing my own confrontational ways. Still though - assholes are knocking down the stairs to my apartment.

Just thought I would share ;-P I like to write.

I have a photo album of their apartment and crap strung all over the place outside. I'm not sure if you'll be able to access it since it's on FB...

http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=2 ... 0ba8ed2ea9

Re-reading this I realized there was a lot I left out too ;-P lol I just hope they move soon.

I truly think the problem with them is they don't belong here. This apartment unit is nestled in a nature park. I am outside at least twice a day -sometimes a half dozen or so times. The outdoors talks to me. I feel like I belong here.

They display an acute discomfort with 'liberal hippies' (me) and they don't apparently like nature since this entire time I've never seen them near the trail or park. (although they did dump a crap load of trash into the park itself.)

So I hope them living here just continues to fester until they move.

When I lived in the midwest I didn't like too many people either for the same reason - didn't belong there. ;-p

I don't have the same problem you are talking about Seven but I do have another problem with my neighbors. At the moment I live in a commercial apartment complex and I swear this one apartment right next to mine is friggin cursed. I couldn't tell you how many people have been in and out of this one apartment next to mine. I know it's not due to anything I have done, we are pretty quiet, keep to ourselves, and there is a boiler room between out apartments so I know nothing goes through the walls or anything either. The thing is, everyone who has moved in and out of there have been horrible filthy neighbors. E

veryone who has lived there has had too much junk, too many kids, not enough manners, and not enough respect for their place of dwelling. Most of them have all had trash like you explained all over the outside of their apartments, let their kids just wander around outside ultimately leading them to my patio for some reason. No Bullshit, I can't tell you how many times I've been sitting in my rocker/recliner sofa (God I love that thing) watching television and then I look and there's some kid from one of those "Feed the Children" commercials staring in at me and my apartment, I can't tell you how creepy and agitating that is. Most of them have been really loud and obnoxious too, you could hear them fighting and carrying on or just partying extremely loud. The garbage and piled junk on the patios is what kills me though, I am a real neat freak, I like order and cleanliness and what I've seen just looking at their patios is just revolting. Sometimes I've been able to see in to that apartment and every tenant of that apartment has kept it a total mess. I don't know about you but I don't like living in filth.

The worst has just come lately though. Now there are these new people who have moved in, like the 4th people this year, and I have a strong feeling they are serious drug addicts. I'm not talking about stoners either, I'm pretty sure these people are either doing Meth or Crack from the activities I've seen of theirs, the way they look, as well as other observations of odd activity. I don't know how many of you have had any real experience with Meth addicts and Crack heads but I have had quite a bit and you can tell when a person is a tweaker or a crack head. Just their body language and facial expressions or mannerisms gives them away. These people seem to definitely fit the bill for tweakers, and I really don't like tweakers myself.

Meth is a huge problem here, I hardly know anyone besides myself who hasn't done it it's so bad. Where Meth and tweakers go also comes more crime and crazy activity. You know what it's like to hear your neighbor vacuuming at 3 a.m. playing Zepplin really loud and trying to take apart and put back together their TV as well as rearrange their furniture? Or to walk out into your parking lot at 2 or 3 in the morning to a bunch of guys geeking out in a garage on a car and making a lot of ruckus doing so? It sucks. I hate my neighbors, I can't wait for these ones to get evicted just like the others, and I can't wait for the next ones to get evicted too since they'll probably be d-bags too.

Meth is really bad news. I can usually tell an addict.

One time I had to give a test to this girl who had just obviously gotten stoned off Meth - I think she made a 04 over all. I was kinda amazed - just the law of chance seemed to indicate she would do better then a 4.

Some places just have bad energy. I don't like this complex I'm in. I love the nature park surrounding it but there is a real sense of sadness in this neighborhood. A kind of resolve to desperateness and real depression. Lewis and Clarke had to winter here at Fort Clatsop and its interesting how depressed they found it too and they really, really, were ready to get out of here to the point they missed the winters of North Dakota.

I hope I'm weird enough not to succumb to such.

My neighbors received another shut off notice today, this time for their water. We usually get harassed particularly bad when they get threatened with a shut off. Maybe they are really jealous of us having so much loot. We do drive a 2000 model mini-van! ooooh aaaaawwww. It has a built in VCR!! ooooh awwww. :)

I figure they are bound to get evicted. There is little to no sound proofing at all in this building so part of the problem was whoever built this was an idiot. There is very little privacy, but as soon as I moved in I realized the problem and knew I would have to just let a lot of noise and crap slide because it is what it is.

I used to live in a dorm room with room mates and I've lived with house mates before and you just have to adapt.

Hopefully your crack head neighbors will move out too Rage ;-P

Update: So the neighbors got a cut off notice, were pissed off and this morning the landlord called up saying we had a noise complaint because we were up passed 10:30pm. (!!! Grrrrr!!!!) The neighbor could hear us up here moving around which bothered him.

I wish everything wasn't so expensive around here, I would really love to move.

I can't get why the landlord keeps calling and threatening us. If we were truly just making a ton of noise - call the police. I would love to see what they thought of us working on a computer or quietly watching MASH at 10:30pm. oooh the horror.

Newest noise complaint - I was up at 6am.

I had my windows shut, my fan on and was minding my own business but holy hell they thought they heard something. I hope their heads explode with anger.
